Children's Ministry
Nurturing children into a loving-serving relationship with God is our fundamental purpose. Children are born with an innate sense of wonder and faith that is real and authentic. Our role is to provide a foundation of experiences on which children build a life of learning and growth toward a mature and vital faith. Proverbs 22:6(NKJV)-Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
There is plenty of fear out there regarding youth and technology today, perhaps the most popular is sexting, which is the act of sending sexually explicit messages or photographs, primarily between mobile phones or other means of texting device. Recent statistics on the subject shows some alarming statistics about teenage sexting. Sexting seems to be the newest craze among teenagers, and it is a very dangerous craze.
As a church we are concerned about this growing issue. Yes, especially when our kids are sexting to people they only met online, they are sexting to boyfriends and girlfriends or potential companions. Some of the teenagers are sexting out of peer pressure. Some just do it for fun. But they are doing it and the church as well as the parents need to be aware of its potential dangers.
